The Mission of Foxfire WUI is to address the increasing threat of wildfire with an innovative and holistic community approach that focuses on sustainability and collaboration.
Foxfire WUI was built on a very eclectic resume. I spent 12 years in the world of education, providing an essential lens to evaluate possible solutions to the wildfire problem. My experience also includes work as a wildland firefighter (FFT2), fuels management field work, and extensive wildfire grant knowledge. The collection of these experiences is what laid the foundation to the Foxfire WUI Wildfire Prevention Model.
Building relationships is the touchstone of the Foxfire WUI approach. Our focus is to build connections with the community and involved partners, but also with the landscape and its vulnerability to wildfire.
